I work from an integrative perspective which means I am able to select the individual approach that works for you and whatever issues you may bring to counselling.
I see my role as not to lead but to facilitate the people I work with to gain a deeper understanding of their own experiences and emotions - no matter what challenges they may have faced in their lives.
I have experience of working with a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, family and life dilemmas. I have a specialist qualification in counselling children and young people, I therefore work with children from primary school age, teenagers and young adults and I also work with adult clients.
I have been trained to work using a range of techniques and find creative therapies especially effective when working with children. These include play therapy approaches, art, writing, and sand tray. I can also utilise CBT techniques for issues such as anxiety and compulsive behaviour
Many people - especially teenagers and young adults - feel very comfortable engaging socially online and may prefer to approach counselling through online video calling rather than in person. I therefore offer online counselling as well as face to face sessions.
